There was a thick fog in Ripley this morning. The haze makes it difficult to see what is ahead, you really could only make out the shapes of some of the objects, building, and cars. I am just so thankful all the other cars had their lights on this morning.
Too many people are living in a fog. At times we all find ourselves in one. It becomes difficult to see what is ahead. It is hard to make out the shapes. We need light to be safe.
That light comes in the form of our Christian family (Matthew 5:14). When other Christians are near, we have a little more light to clear our way. Christians can’t be a light by ourselves, we are more like light reflectors when everything is going well. Jesus himself is “the light of the world” (John 8:12). Jesus said that “whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
Lets stay with the light. We couldn’t see to drive in the foggy mist around us without lights on our cars, and we wouldn’t want other people to be driving without their light either. Lets stay with the light. We don’t want to live without our Jesus. We may not know what is ahead, but Jesus will always keep us safe and show us the way.
