What is going on in our world is not new, and neither is the solution. Draw near to God and he will draw near to you. Flee the devil and he will flee from you.
Television is the mirror and predictor of our culture. It simply shows where we are and where some want to go. Look at what tv reflects:
As this year’s fall TV season begins, a conservative advocacy group maintains that broadcast networks are determined to deluge families with increased graphic and unwarranted content during primetime.
The pilot episode of the CW’s Emily Owens, M.D., set to debut this month, features one female character calling another character in the show an offensive term. The fall season will see a flood of shows that glamorize serial killers, including NBC’s Hannibal, based off the famed cannibal in Silence of the Lambs, and Fox’s The Following, which features an FBI agent who teams up with a serial killer to solve crimes.
Melissa Henson, director of communications for the Parents Television Council (PTC), says such material has become par for the course.
“What we have seen over the past several years, this progression toward more and more offensive content on the … broadcast networks during the primetime viewing hours, and I think the networks have gotten bolder and bolder in pushing the offensive content out there,” she submits. (onenewsnow.com).
NBC.com advertises their show Modern Family with words which will not be uttered here since they are beneath the dignity of this pulpit and the occasion of worship. onenewsnow.com also reported the following:
A spokesman for the Media Research Center expresses no surprise in a recent report from a pro-“gay” group revealing an increasing number of LGBT characters are showing up in scripted programs on network television programs. The recent report from the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) maintains four of five major networks increased their percentage of homosexual characters this past year, ABC ranking the highest. According to GLAAD’s findings, Fox narrowly trailed ABC in the amount of regular LGBT characters; and CBS was saluted as the most-improved network in that respect. Associated Press quotes GLADD president Herndon Graddick, who said: “More and more Americans have come to accept their LGBT family members, friends, co-workers and peers, and as audiences tune into their favorite programs, they expect to see the same diversity of people they encounter in their daily lives.”
They concluded the article by saying:
Gainor notes that many of the new TV programs promote an anti-Christian theme claiming homosexuality is the “new normal.” “People in Hollywood don’t know Christianity, they don’t know traditional values, they don’t know faith, they don’t know family,” he argues. “They know depravity, debauchery, perversion – that’s what they’re good at. So that’s what they’re trying to force the American public to accept and embrace.” According to Gainor, Hollywood is conducting one of the most effective propaganda campaigns since World War II, when many movie studios adopted plots that supported the Allied cause.

What is going on in our world is not new. It may become “normal” but it will never be right. The remedy to our problems is found by returning to God and hiding in the shelter of His Son’s blood. This is our only hope. We can go back to Genesis 2 and see God’s original design for his creation, return to God’s plan today, and entrust the coming generations with this sacred blueprint.

Intellectual faith
Genesis 2:5-9
Genesis provides the intellectual framework of faith. Having abandoned this faith in the Creator God who knows what is best and right, many have condemned themselves to depraved living and demand their own destruction.
Let us be aware and be free of false philosophies and thinking which are not of Christ–Colossians 2:8
Let us renew our minds by truth–Romans 12:2
Let us take every thought captive to obey Christ–2 Corinthians 10:5

Rewarding hope
Genesis 2:15-17
Genesis’ accurate record of creation history notes that God made man with a purpose in mind. Too many have abandoned their purpose and find themselves consumed with extras activities and sinful activities.
People should work when able–2 Thessalonians 3:10
People should should work since they are saved for that purpose–Ephesians 2:10
People should stay busy to stay ready for Christ–1 Thessalonians 4:11

Family love
Genesis 2:20-24
God himself said that it is not good for man to be alone. However, our culture is more alone than ever. Even with all the social media and news outlets, people are increasingly isolated. The loneliness and brokenness produced by the destruction of the Biblical definition and practice of family has led to innumerable problems in the world.
God’s plan for the family is an example of the relationship he wants to share with us–Ephesians 5:22-23.
God’s plan for the family is wholesome for children–Ephesians 6:1-4
God’s plan for the family is beneficial for our pursuit of purity–1 Corinthians 7:5

What can we do? We hear too much of how bad things are and not enough of how to fix the problem.
First, be a Christian.
Second, pray.
Third, make Christians.
