We can’t help but to look into the past and remember “the good old days.” Maybe it seems like things were simpler in the past. Maybe things were more wholesome. Maybe the church was stronger.
While we may like to live in the past, the Bible tells us to live for the future. Ecclesiastes 7:10 says, “Say not, “Why were the former days better than these?” For it is not from wisdom that you ask this.”
History teaches us and inspires us, but only the present allows us to live. Psalm 95:8 says, “today if you hear his voice do not harden your hearts.” Based on this Hebrews 3:12-14 says, “But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end.”
Do what you can do today. Do not wait. Get moving. As the song says, “lead me to some soul today.”
