God’s Great Family

I am so thankful for God’s church. Of all the great blessings God offers, the church is one of the greatest. There is indescribable value in the church. The church gives us comfort, comfort food, support, discipline, belonging, hope, help, family, care, purpose, training, education, identity, and purpose. We are so blessed to be part of the church.

God Values the Church.

Jesus said, “I will build my church” (Matthew 16:18). Acts 20:28 tells us that the church is purchased with Christ’s own blood.  Christ is given by God to be the head of the church (Colossians 1:18). Colossians 1:24 tells us that church is the body of Christ. We also know that Christ is the foundation of the church (1 Corinthians 3:11). Ephesians 5:25 tells us that Christ “loved the church and gave himself up for it.”

God’s People Value the Church.

Paul said, “We ourselves glory in you in the churches of God” (2 Thessalonians 1:4). To “glory” is “to be proud of”someone or something. We should be proud of God’s church. It should be a highlight and focal point of our lives. In 1 Thessalonians 2:19, Paul asked, “For who is our hope or joy or crown of exultation? Is it not even you, in the presence of our Lord Jesus at His coming?”.

We Must Demonstrate Our Pride in the Church.

We will never find anything more important that God’s church. So it is only right that nothing in our lives is more important than God’s church. We must demonstrate our appreciation for God and His church through our lives. We can do that through our presence, our prayers, our support, and our service among and through God’s people. Our families and friends will see the importance of the church in our lives and can learn through us the value of Christ’s church.
