“Rejoice, O young man, in your youth, and let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth. Walk in the ways of your heart and the sight of your eyes. But know that for all these things, God will bring you into judgment.” Ecclesiastes 11:9[1] In the song “Wait for It,” which is … Continue reading Pleasure and the Pursuit of God

Let Us Adore Him
All people adore something. Christians know they should adore/worship God. The desire to worship must be channeled toward God in Christ. We have a challenging time directing our worship because we continue the modern exaggerated division between the secular and sacred. Just a few generations before us, religion filled the air. Christianity, even when … Continue reading Let Us Adore Him

Eternal Generation has become the subject of my own doctoral research in theology. My article is The Bulwark of Trinitarian Theology: Eternal Generaton: What it is and what it is not. In the article I try to map the foundations of the doctrine and help readers get a foothold on how to think about it as part of doing theology. Here’s an excerpt from my conclusion:
“Eternal generation is the bulwark of trinitarian theology. It will not often be mentioned in the average sermon. The phrase itself would likely be met with confused look from people in the pew. It is critical, however, for pastors and theologians as they consider who God is. As a bulwark, it keeps heresy…

What is Neo-Apollinarianism?
Neo-Apollinarianism is a relatively new model of the incarnation championed by William Lane Craig and J. P. Moreland. Briefly, Neo-Apollinarianism is a model of Jesus’ incarnation which teaches that a restricted version of the eternal Logos inhabited the body created in Mary’s womb to supply the “human” mind to the body. In this way, Jesus … Continue reading What is Neo-Apollinarianism?
